Demand and Supply Planner

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Demand and Supply Planner to join our team in the livestock welfare industry. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the movement of goods, equipment, and resources that support humane livestock handling, transport, housing, nutrition, and care. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of supply chain logistics and shares a commitment to ethical practices in animal agriculture.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage supply chain plans for materials, equipment, feed, pharmaceuticals, and welfare-related products.
Forecast demand and plan inventory to ensure timely availability of welfare-critical supplies at farms, shelters, or processing facilities.
Collaborate with procurement, logistics, veterinary teams, and animal care specialists to align supply planning with animal welfare standards.
Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and transportation schedules to minimize delays and disruptions.
Identify risks in the supply chain that may impact livestock welfare and implement proactive solutions.
Utilize supply chain software for planning, reporting, and inventory control.
Analyze data to improve forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and cost-efficiency.
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for time-sensitive items (e.g., vaccines, feed, bedding, equipment).
Ensure all supply chain activities comply with regulatory requirements and livestock welfare protocols.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve supply chain sustainability and traceability.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, preferably in agriculture, livestock, or animal health sectors.
Strong analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail.
Proficient in supply chain systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of livestock care, biosecurity, and animal welfare principles is highly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ethical, and evolving industry.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with cold chain logistics for veterinary pharmaceuticals or biologicals.
Experience working with farms, shelters, or organizations involved in humane livestock production.
Knowledge of sustainability and traceability in livestock supply chains.
