Document Controller – Cambushinnie Substation
We are currently recruiting for a Document Controller for our Cambushinnie Substation near Stirling. This role is crucial in supporting our projects aiming to enhance power networks across Scotland. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility and will play a vital role in improving the region’s power infrastructure.
This role will initially be based at our Maxim office near Motherwell and will relocate to Cambushinnie, Stirling, 5 days per week onsite once the site is up and running.
Responsibilities
* Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) across one or multiple projects using BIM360, SharePoint, and Client EDMS.
* Ensure all project information is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible on digital platforms.
* Facilitate collaborative working and information exchange between project teams, subcontractors, clients, and designers.
* Provide training, support, and guidance on BIM360 to project engineering teams and stakeholders.
* Liaise with the Digital Engineering Manager to implement and maintain BIM360 Quality Audits and reporting via Power BI dashboards.
* Support the Information Manager in training and developing BIM360 Champions.
* Assist in the setup of new projects in BIM360, including folder structures, user permissions, and workflows.
* Promote the ongoing deployment and adoption of BIM360 across all projects.
* Maintain and manage the Operational Master Document Register.
* Execute workflow processes for all documents requiring deliverable status.
* Accept or reject information exchanges within the CDE, ensuring compliance with agreed procedures.
* Print and issue construction drawings to site when required.
* Support project team members in assembling information for project outputs and reporting.
* Enable reliable information exchange and integration within the Information Model.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support a positive project culture.
Essential Qualifications
* Experience in Document Control/Management within engineering or construction projects.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
* Understanding of engineering project workflows and processes.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience using BIM360 Docs.
* Familiarity with site‑based operational processes.
* Knowledge of engineering applications and associated data structures.
* Awareness of the Utilities, Power, or Construction industry.
* Experience working in an Engineering Site Office or Construction Office.
* MIDP – oversee the maintenance and management of the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP), including the creation and allocation of documents.
* Understanding of BIM tools, processes, and practices.
* Awareness of BS1192 / ISO19650 standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a project team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
