Royal Mail is undergoing an ambitious transformation. The Construction team plays a key role in this, providing expertise and driving change to maximize value and ensure the property portfolio supports operational needs.
We are seeking a Regional Construction Manager to deliver capital improvement projects in the South East, London, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Anglia regions.
The role
The Construction Manager will lead and execute capital improvement projects from inception to completion, managing teams from the CPSF / Contractor Framework. Responsibilities include overseeing project scope, cost, schedule, quality, and safety during all phases of property programs and customer investment plans within Property & Facilities Solutions (PFS).
Accountabilities
* Lead multi-disciplinary property teams to manage construction projects, ensuring success and value maximization.
* Use effective project management tools and governance processes.
* Develop and measure performance across safety, environment, energy, quality, risk, and supply chain management.
* Provide regular performance reports covering financials, safety, and project status.
* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and governance standards, including landlord/planning permissions and CDM 2015.
* Maintain communication with senior stakeholders and manage internal clients and partners.
* Build relationships with contractors, consultants, and vendors, promoting performance and best practices.
About you
Candidates should demonstrate:
* Experience delivering property works and managing project portfolios.
* Strong safety and compliance knowledge in construction.
* Planning and governance skills for multiple projects.
* Ability to create and evaluate project plans.
* Understanding of the construction industry and market.
* Environmental awareness in project design and delivery.
* Negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
* Team management experience.
* Relevant degree and professional qualifications (e.g., APM PMQ, RICS, ICE, CIOB).
* CSCS card or equivalent H&S certification.
