Description Overview Wincanton have an exciting opportunity to hire Transport First Line Manager to join the transport team at our Customer Fulfilment Centre, for Waitrose in Greenford, Middlesex. With around 150 vans and over 300 drivers, our Waitrose CFC operates the home delivery service for Waitrose, within the London area. The successful candidate will be personally responsible for managing a team of around 25 drivers, ensuring achievement of operational targets and customer service levels. While managing your team, you will ensure Health and Safety, EU Driving Regulations and all legislative and operational procedures are adhered to, and colleagues are treated fairly and with respect. We operate three shifts as follows, candidates must be able to work all shifts on rotation. Ideally, candidates will drive, as public transport can be limited. Shift 1 - 04:00 am - 12:00 noon Shift 2 - 10:00 am - 18:00 pm Shift 3 - 15:00 pm - 23:00 pm Salary £38,000 - £39,500 p.a depending on experience. The Role Managing a Transport operation delivering to customers in line with the agreed service level and customer service metrics. Ensuring all legal, Health and Safety, EU Driving Regulations and Operational procedures are always adhered to, ensuring the safety of self and others. Support the delivery of the Business Plan - setting and achieving specific measurable targets for the team. To maximise productivity and manage resource in order to improve costs. To support a culture of Continuous Improvement across the department. Performance Management of all colleagues within the team to ensure the achievement of operational targets. To ensure information is recorded accurately on all Transport and Personnel Management Systems. To cover in the absence of the Transport Operations Manager What will you bring?
