Cement SHE Business Partner - Fixed Term Contract
Purpose of the role
* To plan, organise, implement, monitor, review, report and champion the Heidelberg Materials UK Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) requirements, as outlined in the Heidelberg Materials UK Sustainability
* Policy and Integrated Management System (IMS) within the business line of Heidelberg Materials UK
* To develop and implement an effective SHE communications framework and champion its management across business line within Heidelberg Materials UK
* To ensure SHE training is delivered efficiently and effectively working with the training team.
* To provide strategic guidance to the HoS for SHE matters
* To provide SHE liaison and support to external authorities, associations, Heidelberg Materials and as required by the HoS.
Key accountabilities
* Advise HoS on the nature, impact and practical methods of dealing with forthcoming legislation or new risks facing Heidelberg Materials UK
* Provide written reports and KPI's on SHE performance and issues within the appointed business line in Heidelberg Materials UK
* Analyse the requirements for the SHE function in Heidelberg Materials UK and agree the organisation with the HoS;
* Determine and describe what action needs to be taken for SHE and the method to achieve it
* To develop a SHE risk improvement plan/strategy that reflects the needs of the business, departments and individuals, to ensure that all employees are fully briefed and aware of the key priorities, and foster an
* environment that provides all employees with a voice;
* To ensure the IMS and Learning Management System (LMS) is maintained, supported and reviewed as and when required, including the requirements for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001;
* To review the current approach to SHE recognition and development, and introduce a framework for involvement and recognition that encompasses all key work areas; that appropriately recognises and motivates the teams and individuals. Support external awards schemes where applicable;
* To develop and nurture relationships with senior managers within the business line, ensuring a broad understanding of the business needs and future goals, in order to maintain that the service provided to our internal and external customers is appropriate, flexible, effective, and timely
* To manage the application for Environmental permit applications for part A installations and variations across all Heidelberg Materials UK sites. Co-ordinate PPC/EPR, other necessary environment related applications and production of environmental impact assessments where necessary for relevant business line.
* Coach senior managers in their respective business to identify and mitigate risk.
* To support the embedding of sustainable behaviour and practise on operational sites
* To monitor and review existing and impeding legislation of both the European an UK level and advise the business on UK requirements
Education/Qualification
* NEBOSH/IEMA Diploma or equivalent (desired but must be obtained within 1 year of taking role)
* Membership of IOSH/IEMA or an equivalent professional body (desired)
