These posts are only available to all current East Dunbartonshire Council probationers and permanent and temporary employees within East Dunbartonshire Council who will have full GTCS registration with effect from August 2025.

Situated just to the North of Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking to recruit permanent supply pool teachers in the primary sector with a start date of the 12th August 2025.
\n
There could be various posts to be filled, including both part time and full time positions. Please note that salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours.
\n
Successful applicants will be appointed to the council on a permanent supply pool basis and could be placed in any primary school within the authority.
\n
This may include a period of time where successful candidates may be required to undertake continuous long and/or short term assignments in various establishments throughout the authority.
\n
These posts are also open to current probationers and those probationers completing through the flexible route.
\n
Appointments in this case will be offered subject to full GTCS registration being obtained prior to the start of session 2025/26.
\n
Interviews are likely to take place from mid to late May 2025.
\n

Please note you will be asked to provide the names of two referees when you apply for this post, these are not required.
You should print off the role profile and Head Teacher report and give them to your Head Teacher for completion.

It is also important to include the reference number of the post on the Report Form.
\n
Applicants should submit their application form along with a completed HT report by the closing date.
\n
The HT report should be completed and signed by the Head Teacher at the point of submitting application, if report is not submitted or HT report is submitted unsigned, the application will not be taken forward to the leeting stage.

PVG/ Disclosure Scotland
The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
\n

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.
\n
\n
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
\n
\n
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
\n
\n
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
