We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Project Director to lead high-value fit-out projects from initial client engagement through to contract close. This is a strategic, client-facing role that requires a confident leader with a strong track record in pitching, proposal development, and securing new business.
About the Role
As Project Director, reporting to Sales Director, your primary purpose is to play a strategic role in winning and driving the success of our projects from conception to completion. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring the seamless coordination of Pre-Construction Managers, Designers, and Project Managers. Your role will be central to driving business growth, maintaining profitability and strengthening Client Relationships.
Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership - Work with Sales Director to develop and implement strategic plans for achieving sales targets and winning project opportunities. Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to influence project strategy.
* Project Oversight - Oversee the entire project lifecycle ensuring seamless coordination between Pre-Construction Managers, Designers and Project Managers to develop winning proposals and tailored fit-out solutions.
* Client Engagement - Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships with clients, addressing concerns and pain points, and providing updates on project progress.
* Business Development - Lead client-facing activities, including pitching to prospective clients, presenting proposals, and negotiating contracts.
* Project Leadership - Act as the senior point of contact for major projects, ensuring alignment between client expectations and delivery capability.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a senior business development or project leadership role within the fit-out, interiors, or construction industry.
* Strong understanding of commercial, design, and construction principles related to fit-out projects.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Strong commercial awareness and contract negotiation expertise.
* Ability to manage multiple client relationships and project opportunities simultaneously.
* Familiarity with fit-out delivery models such as traditional, Design & Build (D&B), or turnkey.
* Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline tracking.
