Pharmacy Assistant
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the Pharmacy team at HMP Lewes, a Category B/C prison located in Sussex. HMP Lewes is a male prison with a capacity for 742 inmates. The role involves supporting duties such as labelling, stock taking, checking, collections, and other general dispensary responsibilities.
About The Role

Hours
0730 - 1630, 4 days a week, no weekends.
Salary
Part‑time position. Annual salary up to £29,723 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing
* Complete general dispensary duties and stock management.
* Be an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service.
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings.
* Receive prescriptions and satisfactory returns from wing‑based clinical areas.
* Collect orders from suppliers at the Main Gate and arrange collection of returns.
* Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications Required
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent) or working towards it.
* Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential.
* Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
* A non‑judgmental and compassionate approach.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good IT skills and IT literacy.
* Ability to work within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
