Teach Now is seeking a compassionate, resilient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil on a 1:1 basis within a warm, nurturing and community-focused primary setting in Barnet. This is an excellent opportunity for someone skilled in supporting children with behavioural needs and looking to make a meaningful impact in a caring school environment. About the Role You will be working closely with a Year 3 boy who understands English but has limited spoken language. Your responsibilities will include: • Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day • Implementing behaviour-regulation strategies and supporting emotional needs • Encouraging engagement in learning and social activities • Building trust and rapport to help the student feel safe, supported and motivated • Working closely with teaching staff and another colleague for handover and shared support • Supporting the development of communication and regulation skills What We’re Looking For • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviours (1:1 essential) • Restraint/Positive Handling training is highly desirable (training can be provided) • Patience, resilience, and the ability to work calmly under pressure • A nurturing approach aligned with the school’s strong family ethos If you are dedicated, proactive and committed to helping children thrive, we’d love to hear from you.
