We are hiring Community Investment Officers to join our fantastic Community Investment & Engagement team at a pivotal time. These are full-time positions but part-time applications will also be welcomed.
The team is based nominally in Woodhatch, but with flexibility to work throughout Surrey. We operate an agile working system which means you can work from a number of different locations, including home. You may be required, occasionally, to visit community groups, elected Councillors and projects throughout Surrey.
About the Team
You will be joining the Community Investment and Engagement team, in Public Health and Communities, working with community groups and elected Councillors to help residents, voluntary and community organisations deliver activities and projects that benefit local people in their neighbourhoods.
About the Role
As the Community Investment Officer, you will support communities with their grant applicants to the Your Councillor Community Fund (YCCF) and Your Fund Surrey – Small Community Projects. You will be responsible for assessing the applications in accordance with the criteria, ensuring they have the relevant quotes and permissions and liaising with other departments throughout the Council where appropriate for permissions.
You will need to engage with elected Members on a daily basis regarding their specific spend and to chase elected Members who have not yet spent their allocation.
You will ensure the grants are paid out, appropriate records kept and follow up with applicants to ensure the grant monies have been spent accordingly.
To ensure that the benefits of the programme are communicated with residents and community groups are aware of the funding, you will help prepare case studies to widen engagement with communities and ensure information on SCC website is kept up to date.
