A specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school is looking for a passionate psychology graduate to join their team as a Mental Health Support Assistant. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you'll work alongside skilled educators and support staff to assist students who have faced difficult early life experiences. Many of these pupils may struggle with anxiety, emotional regulation, or school avoidance. Your role will be vital in helping them feel supported, understood, and empowered to succeed both emotionally and academically. Provide emotional and mental health support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Deliver tailored interventions to support academic and emotional progress for each child.
Implement coping strategies to help students manage stress, anxiety, and school avoidance.
Collaborate with educators and specialists to ensure every child receives personalised care and support.
Be willing to use restorative practices as a way to develop a safe and supportive environment where every child is included and supported.To succeed as a Mental Health Support Assistant, you must be empathetic, understanding, and calm. A passion for mental health and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable students is essential.
