Our mission is to keep Britain moving, and we're looking for dedicated individuals to join our team. Ready to join us?

This is the job

As an SMR Performance & Labour Analyst, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the performance of the AA’s Service, Maintenance, and Repair (SMR) business units. This position involves analysing core commercial and performance data across both telephony and vehicle job records, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.

You’ll be responsible for producing dynamic reports and models, developing your technical expertise while providing both regular and ad-hoc analysis. Collaboration is central to the role, as you’ll work closely with stakeholders across Network, Finance, Operations, Sales, and Account Management to support the commercial profitability, operational efficiency, dynamic pricing, and customer retention of our SMR business units.

What will I be doing?

As an SMR Performance & Labour Analyst, your role will span several key areas:

Data Analysis & Reporting

* Analysing financial and operational data to assess SMR performance
* Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth
* Providing insights into consumer SMR customer retention
* Building accurate workload forecasts to support dynamic labour modelling and service level delivery
* Delivering insights to support pricing strategies, margin management, and contract negotiations
* Collaborating with stakeholders to develop forecasts and budgets
* Producing meaningful MI and analysis to support decision-making across SMR business units

Stakeholder Engagement

* Partnering with internal teams to understand business needs and tailor analytical outputs accordingly
* Presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear and actionable format
* Providing data-driven insights to support key stakeholders and their respective business areas

Process Improvement

* Identifying inefficiencies in current processes and recommending enhancements
* Supporting the development and implementation of tools and systems to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency

What do I need?

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong blend of commercial awareness, analytical expertise, and a proactive mindset. Here’s what we’re looking for:

* Solid commercial and analytical experience—ideally gained in a commercial or financial analysis role, preferably within the automotive or SMR sector
* A good understanding of financial modelling and forecasting techniques
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply analytical techniques to draw conclusions and solve a variety of business challenges
* High levels of numeracy and logical thinking, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively
* A quick learner who can adapt and apply new skills in different situations
* The ability to work under pressure and use sound judgement to deliver timely, accurate insights
* Experience with data manipulation and analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, Databricks, and Power BI
* A commercially minded approach, with sound business judgement and common sense
* Confidence in influencing peers, senior leaders, and key stakeholders

Education & Qualifications

* Ideally, a degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant commercial or analytical subject such as Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field

Personal Characteristics

We’re looking for someone who is:

* Naturally curious, with a passion for digging into data to answer business questions
* A strong relationship builder with excellent communication and presentation skills
* Solutions-focused, with a problem-solving mindset
* Highly driven, energetic, and self-motivated
* Resilient and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Innovative and open to new ideas
* Collaborative, with a strong team ethic and the ability to work cross-functionally
* Organised, methodical, and detail-oriented
* Enthusiastic and ambitious

Plus, so much more!

We’re an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from everyone. The AA values diversity and the difference this brings to our culture and our customers. We actively seek people from diverse backgrounds to join us and become part of an inclusive company where you can be yourself, be empowered to be your best and feel like you truly belong.
