Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in various fitting techniques. This role involves working with a range of materials and tools to assemble, install, and maintain components in accordance with specifications. The Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
* Assemble and install components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
* Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate assembly.
* Conduct plumbing tasks as required, ensuring all fittings are watertight and compliant with regulations.
* Perform carpentry work for custom fittings and installations.
* Carry out routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
* Execute heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to manual handling guidelines.
* Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored appropriately.
Requirements
* Proven experience in fitting or a related field is essential.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
* Proficiency in welding techniques is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly processes.
* Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely.
* A valid commercial driving licence is an advantage but not mandatory.
* Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
