About the Job
Seeking a Personal Assistant for a female client with a physical disability and neuro diversity. The role supports independence, daily living tasks, travel, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
* Assist with laundry, cleaning, and maintaining the flat.
* Support personal care: dressing, showering, dental care, and using a TENS machine.
* Drive and accompany the client to appointments, shopping, volunteering, church, gym, and other outings.
* Prepare meals from scratch and clear up after meals; assist with packed lunches when needed.
* Help with medication administration and daily routine planning.
* Walk with the client to local places and assist with public transport.
* Manage errands, carry bags, find routes, and organise items in the flat.
* Occasionally meet with support staff for shift planning.
Person Specification
Essential
* Reliable, trustworthy, honest, and mature.
* Ability to assist with household tasks and personal care without taking over.
* Flexible to work the rota and adapt to changing commitments.
* Able to handle health conditions calmly and practically.
* Driver with a clean, own car licence.
Desirable
* Understanding of disability and its effects.
* Willingness to cover during other assistants’ absences with suitable notice.
Shifts & Rota
Weekdays: Monday 8‑10am, Wednesday 8‑12:30pm. Saturdays: 9‑1pm. One Sunday a month: 8:30‑12:30pm. Relief shifts available.
Terms and Conditions
Pay Rates
* £14.50 per hour on weekends.
* £13.55 per hour on weekdays.
* 45p per mile mileage when car is used for outings.
* Relief shifts: £13.55 on weekdays, £14.50 on weekends.
Annual Leave
* Equivalent to work normally done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
* Leave must be planned and agreed in advance.
Background Checks
* Enhanced DBS check required.
* Two referees needed, one must be a recent employer or character reference.
Expenses
* Reimbursed for expenses incurred during the role.
Trial Period
* 3‑month probation period following a trial shift.
