Locum Supervising Social Worker – Fostering (Children’s Services) • £35.00 per hour • Wigan Council • Contract: Locum | Full-time
I am looking forexperienced Supervising Social Worker to join the Fostering Team at Wigan Council on a locum basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional with a strong background in fostering and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
* Hold a caseload of foster carers and provide regular supervision and support
* Undertake annual foster carer reviews
* Attend and contribute to all associated meetings including LAC reviews, strategy meetings, and placement planning meetings
* Complete relevant training and CPD
* Participate in fostering panel as required
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
* Significant post-qualifying experience in fostering services (experience essential)
* Strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and statutory frameworks
* Ability to manage a complex caseload and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Additional Information
* Thursdays are designated office days for all staff
* Duty days are also office-based
* Hybrid working pattern available outside of these designated days
* Supportive team environment with structured supervision
