We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Manager to join our friendly team.
Our Charity Registered Preschool is volunteer committee run. We operate alongside Hampshire School term timetable and our intake covers children aged two, three and four. We are committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and it is essential that all staff and volunteers share this commitment.
We are looking for an individual with a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification and an in-depth knowledge of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. The successful applicant will have proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide their team. Commitment to developing a positive ethos for under-five’s and creating a welcome and family friendly environment are critical along with exceptional interpersonal skills and a firm motivation towards maintaining the highest standards of care. Flexibility and a willingness to be actively involved in the committee, community and fundraising efforts are also important.
Some of the Management Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Effectively leading and managing the team of staff
• Providing a high quality of education and learning, ensuring that individual children progress within the Early Years Foundation stage
• Taking responsibility for the security and well-being of all the children within the setting
• Ensuring all policies and procedures are always adhered to and keeping on top of any new policy/procedural requirements in line with current legislation
• To ensure the Preschool is OFSTED compliant
• Implementing an effective parent partnership and to be influential in building strong links with parents
• Taking the lead role in child protection and Safeguarding
• Administering First Aid
• Maintaining appropriate records of first aid/incident/existing injury
• Responsible for maintaining registers, staff absence/staff deployment and Staff-child ratios
• To liaise with other professionals such as Health visitors. Inclusion Support Officers. MASH team
• Maintain Key Carer system
• To recognise staff training needs and book courses/webinars
• Responsible for Induction of new staff and Committee members
• Taking the lead role in Health and Safety
• Taking an active role in fund raising
• Having a responsible approach to budgeting and business management
• Managing all day-to-day operations of the Preschool
• Reporting to and attending meetings with the Committee
Qualifications, Training and Experience:
• Level 3 qualified as a minimum
• Experience in an Early Years managerial role (2 years)
• Safeguarding 4
• Health and safety
• First aid – paediatric
• SEN experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of Ofsted requirements
• Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Hours: 32.5 hours per week (School Term Time ONLY)
Salary: £27,600 for 38 working weeks and 8 weeks paid holiday paid as salary over 12 months. Overtime available at an hourly rate.

Team: The team comprises of a Deputy Manager, 3 Level 3 Qualified Practitioners, Bank Staff & Administrator who handles funding, invoicing, admissions, payroll and all other day to day admin.
