We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our web engineering community at Tesco Bank, part of Barclays Bank UK Plc.
This role will be focused on helping us continuously drive‑up high quality and secure applications through implementing our best practices and standards. You’ll be working with the latest technologies and keeping our software currency fresh.

What you’ll be doing
* Building features and technical proofs of concept, working alongside with senior and lead software engineers to assist in design and discovery phases ultimately enhancing our engineering team.
* Working closely with our Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, Cloud Engineers and Test Engineers to shape the quality of our products and platforms.
* You’ll be key in delivering features through route to live changes in an Agile way of working.
* Bringing your skills and experience, to make a significant impact on how we deliver software within our feature teams.
* Helping to continuously drive up the quality for our customers through implementing our best practices and standards.
We need you to have
* Ability to write clean, well‑tested code which can be easily maintained by large teams.
* Experience of best practises around unit testing.
* Experience of supporting and running services you have developed.
* Analytical and creative problem‑solving skills.
* Working knowledge of AWS services.Knowledge of Agile practises and ceremonies.
And if you have any of these, even better
* Exposure to DevOps toolsets and CI/CD concepts.
* Understanding and exposure to integrating REST API endpoints.
* Understanding of containerisation technologies.
