My client is a dynamic ecological consultancymitted to harmonising development with biodiversity. Their team provides pragmatic, science-based ecological advice to clients across the UK, ensuring that development projects integrate ecological considerations effectively and sustainably.

Growing at a pace, this modern and forward-thinking organisation is based in the Southeast with a range of projects in the area.

Your new role
They are seeking a proactive and organised Ecology Coordinator to support the delivery of ecological services across a range of development projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong coordination skills, ecological knowledge, and a passion for biodiversity and ecologicalpliance.

Project Coordination:
  • Manage scheduling and logistics for ecological surveys and assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Track project progress and ensure timelypletion of deliverables.

  • Ecological Support:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, and protected species survey reports.
  • Support field teams with data collation and mapping (, GIS).
  • Maintain and update ecological databases and records.
  • Ensure all workplies with UK wildlife legislation, planning policy, and internal quality standards.
  • Monitor and report on ecological mitigation measures and planning conditions.

  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with ecological consultants and senior staff to support project delivery.
  • Coordinate internalmunications and contribute to team development and training initiatives.

  • What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in ecological consultancy or environmental coordination.
  • Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies.
  • Excellent organisational andmunication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS software (, QGIS or ArcGIS).
  • Membership of CIEEM or working towards it.
  • Desirable Skills
  • Botanical identification proficiency.
  • Experience with BNG metrics and biodiversity planning.

  • What you'll get in return

  • Apetitive salary in the range of £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience;
  • Remote working with no requirement to attend an office;
