We are seeking an experienced Front End Developer to join a Central Government programme on an initial 6-month contract. You will be responsible for building and improving user-facing services that are secure, accessible, and performant.
The role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including designers, back-end developers, and delivery managers to deliver high-quality digital services aligned with government standards.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days per week onsite in either London or Manchester, with the remainder remote.
Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Experience working with Python or Ruby in a web development environment
Knowledge and practical experience implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Experience developing responsive, accessible web applications
Familiarity with modern development workflows (version control, CI/CD, testing practices)
Experience working within Agile delivery teams
Experience delivering digital services within UK Government or Public Sector environments
Understanding of GDS Service Standards and accessibility compliance
Experience with design systems such as GOV.UK Design System
Active SC Clearance
