HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, West Midlands.

Shifts:
Working days between Monday - Sunday: start times between 04:00 – 06:00

Rates of pay:
* Monday to Friday (Days): £17.50 per hour
* Saturday: £20.50 per hour
* Sunday: £23.50 per hour
Day-to-day duties:
As a Class 1 Shunter Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
* Shunting 45ft and double-deck trailers onto allocated bays
* Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
* Carrying out daily yard checks in line with site rules and health and safety guidelines
* Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
* Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
* Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
* Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
* Covering trunking routes when required
Essential skills:
To be successful as a Class 1 Shunter Driver, you will need:
* A valid UK Category CE licence
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience driving and shunting
* No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
* A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
* Good spoken and written English
* Punctuality and strong time-keeping skills
* A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
* Excellent communication skills, as you will liaise with both transport and warehouse teams (radio use is essential)
Desirable experience:
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Training:
* A driver’s assessment must be completed before starting
