IT Projects & Services Manager
Responsible for NATS Infrastructure Services (NIS) and Business Application Services (BAS) contract.

Our support to UK Air Traffic Management (ATM) began with NATS in the early 1990’s, starting with the development of the current in-service system; and we are now at the heart of the innovative development work to modernise of ATM solutions.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of enterprise IT services to one of our most important, prestigious, and long-term customers in the UK underpinning the smooth running and continuity of their critical business objectives. These services include a comprehensive set of Service Management & Reporting functions for ~4,000 users including a 24x7 Service Desk, End User Services, Network & Infrastructure Services, Hosting Services and Business Application Support Services. Each of these are to be delivered in accordance with strict SLA’s, KPI’s and security procedures. In addition to Service Delivery, our team also deliver a substantial number of concurrent change and improvement projects both in the infrastructure and application development areas.
Leidos are working to implement a step change in the way we deliver these services during 2024 and the chosen candidate will need to be heavily involved in helping to define the next generation of IT services working closely with the client, our solution architects, our commercial and financial teams as well as our Portfolio and Divisional level leadership.
The chosen candidate will also be responsible for management of the current team of ~40 staff and additional surge resources that may be required to ensure the successful delivery of our contractual obligations while ensuring a favourable financial outcome.
Given all of these responsibilities, the chosen candidate will require experience of Service Delivery in a busy and dynamic environment, be competent in Programme/Project Management disciplines and have a high degree of commercial and political awareness.
The role will report directly to the Portfolio Director, will require SC Security clearance and frequent visits to key customer sites in the Whiteley area.
The successful individual will be responsible for:
* Managing the tactical day to day running of a complex and operationally critical IT Service Management team.
* Identifying and managing problems, risks and issues associated with the running of a 24/7 operation in order to meet our customers’ business needs and protecting Leidos’ reputation as an organisation which delivers for its customers.
* Demonstrating a professional and proactive approach in customer communications in order to build strong relationships with a wide group of key stakeholders.
* Leading by example in demonstrating a collaborative and transparent partnering approach with the customer group in support of Leidos’ long-term goals and principles.
* Effective management of resources and commercial commitments
* Leading Monthly Service Reviews and Project Status Reviews with senior customers
* Compliance with Leidos IPR/MR process and input to Portfolio Reviews.
* Ensuring utilisation targets are hit with resources assigned to your organisation.
* Effectively leading, managing and motivating the on-site and remote teams to ensure a culture of focus, delivery and professionalism within which each member understands their role, responsibilities and is enthused to deliver their best work.
* Participating in sector resourcing through recruitment and resource management activity to help maintain a balanced and flexible resource pool.
WHO DO WE NEED?
We are looking for a talented individual who is able to lead from the front with customers and team members alike and who has proven people management skills having an acute eye for attention to detail, excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills ,service delivery expertise with a technical bias and strong programme management experience aligned to client and technical complexity notably:
* The required gravitas of being able to manage senior stakeholders within the IT Services arena including Directors, Programme Managers, End user community personnel and Supply Chain
* Experience of managing sizeable application and infrastructure support contracts
* Experience of managing teams of up to 40 highly qualified technical staff
* Strong negotiation skills
* Strong financial skills including P&L for the contract and developing proposal pricing.
* Worked within ITIL based framework, with experience of: Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management
* Experience of monitoring service against agreed service levels
* Experience in reporting and analysing data to see trends.
* Experience working on complex projects and programmes.
Clearance Requirements: Current UK SC Clearance, or the ability to gain UK SC Clearance.
