This organisation specialises in the design, and installation of process systems, pipework, tanks, and turnkey engineering solutions for globally recognised manufacturing brands. With a strong reputation for technical excellence, safety, and project delivery, they continue to grow through long‑term client partnerships and repeat business.
As part of this growth, they are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a major installation project based at a large manufacturing site in Slough.
The Role
The appointed Project Manager will take full responsibility for managing a new installation project, including tanks, mixtures, and associated process equipment. This is a senior, client‑facing Project Manager position with ownership of projects valued at up to £3 million.
The Project Manager will be involved from initial pricing and planning through to installation, commissioning, and final handover, playing a pivotal role in successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
As Project Manager, your duties will include:
Managing the full project lifecycle from tender, pricing, and scope definition through to completion
Pricing jobs and preparing accurate cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
Leading equipment selection to ensure systems meet process, hygiene, and operational requirements
Acting as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining strong working relationships and managing expectations
Coordinating closely with the Project Engineer, CAD designers, and technical teams to ensure designs are buildable and compliant
Overseeing on‑site installation works, managing fitters, welders, riggers, and subcontractors
Monitoring project programme, cost, quality, and risk, implementing corrective actions where required
Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety legislation and site standards
Managing variations, change control, and commercial discussions throughout the project
Reporting progress, forecasts, and performance to senior stakeholders
This role requires a hands‑on Project Manager who is comfortable operating both in the office and on site.
About You
To be successful as Project Manager, you will have:
Proven experience working as a Project Manager within engineering, process, food & beverage, or manufacturing environments
A strong track record delivering capital projects valued up to £3 million
Solid understanding of process installations, pipework systems, tanks, and hygienic engineering
Engineering qualification or technical background
The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design, fabrication, and site delivery
Strong client‑facing and stakeholder management skills
Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities
A strong health & safety mindset within site‑based environments
Desirable:
Project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent)
SMSTS or CSCS certification
