Join the team shaping the future of community at tombola

We’re looking for a creative and player-focused Product Designer to join our newly formed Community Squad.

This squad will shape how players connect, compete, and express themselves on tombola — from social features and gamification to identity and community-driven experiences.

As a Product Designer, you’ll work end-to-end — from discovery and concepting through to detailed design — creating engaging, intuitive, and responsible player experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Analysts to bring ideas to life and make sure everything we build strengthens our player community.

We’re after a confident designer with strong problem‑solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for user‑centred design. You’ll be comfortable working across UX and UI, sweating the details while keeping the bigger picture in mind. At tombola, design is a team sport — we value curiosity, openness, and low ego above all.

What you’ll do

* Design delivery: Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs for new features.
* Player‑centred design: Use insights from research and data to design experiences that are simple, fun, and rewarding.
* Collaboration: Partner with Product, Tech, Data, and Research colleagues to deliver impactful solutions.
* Iteration: Test and refine ideas quickly, validating usability and desirability through research and feedback.
* Design principles: Champion our design principles and contribute to maintaining consistency across products.
* Design systems: Contribute to and evolve our design system to ensure scalability and reusability.
* Innovation & AI: Explore how new tools (including AI) can responsibly support the design process, helping us move faster and smarter.
* Storytelling: Communicate design decisions and the value of design effectively to a range of stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

* Digital product design: 3+ years of experience designing digital products, with proven ability to deliver for web and/or mobile.
* Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful problem‑solving and showcasing both UX and UI skills.
* Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in cross‑functional squads.
* Prototyping & tools: Proficiency in Figma, including advanced features (auto‑layout, components, file organisation, design systems).
* Iteration mindset: Experience working in Agile environments with the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
* Player empathy: A passion for designing experiences that bring players joy and value.
* AI openness: An interest in (or experience with) exploring AI responsibly within design practice.

Desirable skills

* Experience with gamification, social features, or community‑driven design.
* Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design practices.
* Familiarity with front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS) to support collaboration with developers.
* Experience working with research insights and experimentation (e.g. A/B testing).
* Background in online gaming, gambling, or entertainment industries.
* An interest in social gaming, player communities, or playful experiences.

💡 If you’re ready to help build the future of how players connect and play together at tombola, we’d love to hear from you.
