Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) – Urology
Compensation: Competitive salary + Sign-On Bonus + Relocation + Loan Assistance
Job Type: Full time. Monday–Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
Location: Rutland, Vermont
We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with urology experience to join a hospital-owned urology practice within a respected 144-bed community hospital. This role offers an independent patient panel, strong physician collaboration, and an excellent work-life balance.
Job Responsibilities
1. Provide comprehensive outpatient urology care
2. Conduct detailed histories and physical examinations
3. Evaluate and manage acute and chronic urologic conditions
4. Order and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, etc.)
5. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
6. Provide patient education and counseling
7. Participate in first-call coverage as appropriate
8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation
9. Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
For Nurse Practitioners:
10. Master’s degree in Nursing
11. National certification through ANCC or equivalent
12. Registered with the Vermont State Board of Nursing
For Physician Assistants:
13. Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program
14. NCCPA certification
15. Registered with the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice
For All Candidates:
16. Minimum 2 years of NP or PA experience in urology required
17. Vermont licensure (or ability to obtain)
18. Unit-specific certifications as required (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC as applicable)
19. Completion of patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint certification per department guidelines
20. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
21. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-based model
