Here at New Victoria Hospital, we are looking for a Theatre Practitionerto join our Theatres team. This role involves providing a high standard of professional practice and clinical care under direct supervision, as well as working within the theatre team to promote a good working environment.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of this role involve:
* Implement basic nursing care independently.
* Implement new/complex care with supervision.
* Practise in own clinical area of practice to agreed competency level.
* Implement research based practice.
* Recognise potential clinical challenges and ways of dealing with them.
* Develop preceptorship skills and actively support peers.
* Develop supervisory skills.
* Have a basic understanding of theatre budget/resource matters.
* Effectively communicate with patients and colleagues.
Requirements
Knowledge
* Strong understanding of relevant clinical and professional standards
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Good IT literacy
* Understanding of legal and professional practice requirements within perioperative care
Experience
* Previous experience working as a Surgical First Assistant
Qualifications
* ODP Level 3 or Registered Nurse
* HCPC Registration (for ODPs) or NMC Registration (for nurses)
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
