We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and dedicated individual to join our Countywide Fostering Service as a full-time Fostering Support Officer. Whilst you will work closely with supervising social workers this role primarily involves providing administrative support to supervising social workers and undertaking non-qualified tasks which supports the annual review process for foster carers.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for foster carers in the absence of supervising social workers.
* Monitor annual reviews and undertake associated tasks such as distributing and chasing review paperwork to foster carers, internal staff and relevant agencies.
* Conduct DBS checks both online and in person.
* Monitor, manage and extract data using Excel spreadsheets.
* Arrange payments for foster carers and purchase items as agreed by the supervising social worker or team manager.
* Support training requests and distribute key communications to foster carers’ and agencies.
* Attend events, deliver items, and support contact arrangements as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience
As well as having strong administrative and organisational skills, you will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in a range of ICT packages which include Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Databases (preferably Mosaic) and SharePoint. You will need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team and be flexible with occasional work outside of office hours. This post has no case holding responsibilities.
