Mechanical Cost Engineer (Estimator)

Summary
This role sits within the Estimating team and focuses on delivering accurate and competitive mechanical (MEP) cost estimates across projects in London and the South, over a broad variety of sectors such as infrastructure, commercial, healthcare, and energy.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed mechanical (MEP) cost estimates and take-offs
* Support tendering and work-winning activities
* Review drawings, specs, and tender documents
* Engage with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing
* Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
* Collaborate with design, commercial, and delivery teams
* Contribute to tender submissions and cost narratives
* Maintain cost databases and benchmarking data
* Support pre-construction and project handover phases
What we’re looking for
* Proven Mechanical (MEP) estimating experience
* Background across sectors such as infrastructure, commercial, healthcare, or energy
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems and services
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
