Job Summary
Full-time (10PA) Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry for the Derby City Wellbeing Service. This role includes leadership opportunities over a three-year basis within your workplan.
Leadership Opportunities
* Divisional Medical Director – Older Adults, Specialist and Children's Services: responsibility for ensuring high quality, efficient and effective services across the division and delivery of Trust Strategy and enabling plans.
* Clinical Director – Working Age Adults Community and Assessment Care Group: provide medical leadership through a triumvirate leadership model to improve quality, productivity and efficiency, aligning with the Trust's vision and strategic objectives.
Job Responsibilities
* Take a key role in the Department of General Adult Psychiatry, providing clinical leadership to the teams and supporting current and future service developments.
* Work closely with medical and non‑medical colleagues from community, inpatient and liaison services to support crisis referrals, assessments and post‑discharge home treatment.
* Lead quality improvement, peer support and clinical engagement in service development and management.
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a license.
* Approved clinician status.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register in general adult psychiatry or can achieve within six months of appointment.
* Excellent knowledge of speciality, oral and written communication skills in English, ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA, ability to work in and lead a team, and participation in research and service provision.
* Approval under S12 or ability to achieve within three months of appointment.
