A nurturing Primary SEMH specialist school in Wigan is seeking a committed SEN Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with a range of emotional and behavioural needs. Many children at this school present with challenging behaviour requiring a confident and resilient individual to support them with emotional regulation, de‑escalation and intervention.
The Role - SEN Behaviour Mentor
As a SEN Behaviour Mentor, you will work with pupils across KS1 and KS2, providing 1:1 and small‑group support to help them regulate behaviour, engage with learning, and develop positive social skills.
You will play a key role in managing challenging behaviour, using structured strategies and a calm, consistent approach to de‑escalate situations. Building strong, trusting relationships will be central to your success, as many pupils require stability, patience, and positive role models to thrive.
This SEN Behaviour Mentor role involves supporting pupils with needs such as SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and trauma‑related behaviours, helping them overcome barriers to learning and make meaningful progress.
