What you will be doing This is a varied and hands-on position, offering exposure across all areas of finance. From transactional support through to project cost control and management reporting. Working closely with the Finance Director, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial control as the business continues to grow. Allelys operates over 4 separate Limited Companies, with high levels of intercompany trading, bringing its own unique complexities to the accounting functions. This role will require someone who can really take initiative, support wider team engagement and compliance. With a rapidly growing turnover over 40m and over 200 employees it has now achieved the status of No 1 Heavy Haulier in the UK. Key Responsibilities: * Manage end-to-end costings for large projects, ensuring accuracy, control, and profitability tracking. * Perform control account reconciliations across multiple companies to maintain robust financial records. * Assist in preparing monthly Provisions and Accruals * Prepare and issue Projects sales invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing. * Provide cover for transactional finance roles (purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, payroll, and bank reconciliations) during busy periods or staff absence. * Use Excel extensively, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, to analyse and present financial data. * Collaborate closely with colleagues across the business, teamwork and communication are essential. * Support the Finance Director with ad hoc analysis, reporting, and process improvements. The successful candidate will have * ACCA / CIMA part or fully qualified * Proven experience in both transactional and management accounting. * High practical understanding of reconciliations and project costings. * Solid experience of accounting software with a deeper understanding of the mechanics behind transactions. * Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables). * Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. * Flexible and proactive, with a willingness to support across all areas of finance. * A genuine team player who thrives in a collaborative environment to achieve goals. * Motivated, ambitious, and keen to progress as the company continues to grow
