ROLE- Design Engineer
TERM: Permanent
LOCATION: Walsall
SALARY: £30,000 - £37,000 (Dependant on experience)
My client is a manufacturer of specialist products for the Industrial sector. They are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team near Walsall on a permanent basis.
Qualifications:
1. HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
2. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
3. Previous experience in a similar role in an Industrial environment
4. Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
5. Knowledge of electrical, injection moulding, metalwork are all desirable, but not a necessity
6. Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
7. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
8. Proficient using MS Office
9. Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
10. Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
Responsibilities:
1. Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
2. Liaising with manufacturing providers
3. Being involved in final assembly of products
4. Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
5. Updating 3D models and drawings
6. Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
7. Checking drawings for sign off
8. Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
