One of my key clients working in the EV / Batteries / Mobility Sector is recruiting for a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join their Electrical and Electronics team based in Northern Ireland. The company is a cutting-edge company dedicated to advancing sustainable transportation solutions through innovative engineering and technology.
The company is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the design, integration, and optimisation of complex systems for our electric propulsion projects, contributing their expertise to ensure the seamless operation and performance. As a Systems Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that push the boundaries of new technology.
Systems Engineer
£35k to £55k (Negotiable Depending on Experience)
Northern Ireland
Hybrid WFH - Mainly on Site
Responsibilities:
* System Architecture Design: Lead the design and development of system architectures for electric propulsion systems, including power distribution, control systems, and communication networks, to meet project requirements and performance objectives.
* Requirements Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyse system requirements, translating user needs into technical specifications and design criteria for implementation.
* Subsystem Integration: Coordinate the integration of subsystems and components, ensuring compatibility and functionality across mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces.
* Performance Optimization: Conduct thorough analysis and modelling of system behavior to identify optimization opportunities and improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with system design and integration, implementing proactive measures to ensure project success and compliance with safety standards.
* Testing and Validation: Develop comprehensive testing procedures and protocols to validate system performance and functionality, collaborating with testing teams to conduct verification and validation activities.
* Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, specifications, and test reports, to communicate design decisions, findings, and recommendations effectively to internal teams and stakeholders.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to achieve project goals and milestones effectively.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Proven experience (3 years) in systems engineering, preferably in the aerospace, automotive, or marine industry.
* Strong proficiency in systems engineering principles, methodologies, and tools, such as requirements management, system modeling, and simulation.
* Experience with system modeling and simulation software (e.g., SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica) is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of electric propulsion systems, power electronics, control systems, and communication protocols.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
* Familiarity with regulatory standards and certification requirements for marine systems is a plus.
