Our client is a well-established, independent family-run business based in Kent, specialising in the creation and maintenance of beautiful gardens to the highest standard. Founded in 2015, the company has built a strong reputation for quality, professionalism, and a personal touch.
As part of their continued growth, they are now seeking a Horticulturalist to join their dedicated and successful team.
About the Role
As a Horticulturalist, you will play a hands-on role in the ongoing maintenance and development of private and commercial gardens. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of horticultural tasks, ensuring that all work is carried out with care, creativity, and precision.
Main Responsibilities:
Perform general garden maintenance, including seasonal care of beds and borders, soil conditioning, mulching, weeding, pruning, cutting back, and tying in
Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and bulbs to enhance garden designs
Carry out lawn mowing, edging, strimming, hedge trimming, and low-level tree pruning/lopping
Operate and maintain a variety of garden machinery, including mowers and hedge cutters
Identify and treat pest and disease issues using environmentally friendly methods
Ensure tools and machinery are used, cleaned, and stored safely, following Health and Safety procedures
Key Skills and Experience Required:
Strong practical horticultural knowledge and skills across all areas of garden maintenance
Enthusiastic and creative, with a passion for high-quality garden care and attention to detail
Proven ability to deliver high standards of workmanship
A good team player with the initiative to work independently when required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, punctual, and highly organised, with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
