Responsibilities
* Support the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to ensure meeting or exceeding sales and KPI targets.
* Set clear sales goals, track performance, and evolve processes to drive store growth.
* Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and continuous development of staff.
* Build a motivated, high-performing team to increase store success.
* Analyse sales data and financial reports to make quick, informed decisions with the Store Manager, identifying opportunities operationally and commercially.
* Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
* Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries, and resolve complaints professionally.
* Assist in day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
* Support cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
* Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees; provide feedback and coaching to improve performance.
* Support the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role objectives and KPI’s
* Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target.
* Drive KPIs including units, conversion, ATV, and UPT; achieve upselling and cross-selling targets.
* Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
* Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
* Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
* Ensure employee satisfaction and engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
* Assist in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience
* Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
* Passionate about retail with a good understanding of latest trends and competitors; experience coaching and developing individuals.
* Strong communication skills; proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
* Experience analysing KPI data to support commercial decisions.
* Keen eye for detail and commerciality; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
* Ability to promote JD Group values to internal and external stakeholders.
