The role
The Director of International Communications will set and lead City Football Group’s international communications strategy across a diverse global network of clubs, operating across multiple continents, languages, cultures, and media environments. This strategic role provides trusted counsel to executive leadership, international club Communication and Sporting Directors, and CEOs, shaping and protecting a consistent, high-impact global narrative that strengthens CFG’s reputation, brand, and cultural values in both moments of opportunity and risk.
The role owns the development and delivery of a unified international communications framework, defining clear objectives and success measures aligned to the Group’s overarching communications strategy, while acting as the strategic advisor to clubs on public relations strategy and brand reputation management. You will lead a global centre of excellence, driving collaboration, best-practice sharing, and capability building across all clubs, while monitoring global media, cultural, and reputational trends to provide insight that informs executive decision-making.

What we are looking for
1. Extensive senior-level communications leadership experience, with significant international responsibility and a proven track record operating in a complex, high-profile, global brands.
2. Expertise in international media relations and reputation management, with demonstrated ability to lead strategy and decision-making in complex evolving environments.
3. Proven credibility as a strategic advisor to executive leadership teams, including experience influencing and advising stakeholders up to Board level with sound judgement and confidence.
4. Strategic stakeholder skills with cultural intelligence, with demonstrated ability able to establish trust and influence across diverse markets, cultures, and time zones.
5. Confidence as a strategic partner, with the ability to make rapid, well-judged decisions in evolving situations, balancing long-term reputation objectives with decisive real-time action.
6. Additional language capability would be beneficial, reflecting the global scope of the role.
