About the group The Rannoch Collection comprises the Loch Rannoch Hotel, Spa & Estate, which is a luxury Highland destination set on 250 acres on the shores of Loch Rannoch. Our group also includes the neighbouring 5* Dunalastair Hotel Suites and the Kinloch Rannoch Country Store. As we continue to grow, were looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to bring strong financial control, clear reporting, and practical insight across all parts of the business.
The role Reporting directly to the Group General Manager, youll lead the day-to-day finance function across the group, supported by a Finance Assistant and working closely with our external accounting firm. This is a hands-on role combining robust controls with forward-looking analysishelping operational teams make better decisions and improving profitability across accommodation, food & beverage, spa, activities and retail.
This is a live-out role only and is office based on-site at Loch Rannoch Hotel.
Key responsibilities Lead the finance function across the group, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
Own month-end close: journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts
Produce weekly/monthly performance reporting (P&L, cashflow, KPIs) with clear commentary and actions
Budgeting and forecasting ; support departmental leaders with cost control and margin improvement
Oversee AP/AR, banking, cash handling controls, and credit control where required
Payroll processing/oversight (end-to-end), ensuring accuracy, deadlines are met, and queries are resolved promptly
Work with HR/operations on starters/leavers, timesheets, holiday/sickness, and payroll reporting
VAT returns and compliance; liaise with our external accounting firm and auditors as needed
Strengthen purchasing, stock and inventory controls (especially F&B, spa and retail)
Support commercial projects : supplier reviews, pricing/package analysis, capex tracking and ROI
Improve systems, processes and reporting efficiency (strong Excel skills essential)
What were looking for Proven experience as a Financial Controller / Finance Manager (multi-site and/or hospitality experience strongly preferred)
Comfortable running payroll and improving payroll processes (experience with hourly payroll a plus)
Strong management accounts background and excellent Excel capability
Confident communicator who can work closely with non-finance stakeholders and external partners
High attention to detail, strong controls mindset, and ability to prioritise in a fast-moving environment
ACCA/CIMA/ACA part-qualified or qualified welcome (experience and capability are key)
