About the Role
The Combined Authority (CA) is entering an exciting period of change and growth, and we are looking for an ambitious, highly committed Programme Accountant with the skills and drive to deliver an exceptional, high‑quality service that enables and informs organisational decision‑making.
This role will be instrumental in supporting major projects and programmes to be delivered by the CA. You will have responsibility for providing a comprehensive and proactive financial management service, offering commercial and financial insight and analysis on major programmes and investment for the Liverpool City Region, with a keen eye on ensuring value for money.
The role will support all stages of a project and/or programme, from procurement to delivery. It involves producing detailed and complex scenario modelling, owning and updating funding models and ensuring key financial impacts are well communicated and understood by a range of colleagues for decision making.
The role will act as a key liaison between the Finance Team and the wider organisation, linking in with Senior Managers and Project Leads in support of major programmes.
About the person
We are looking for a CCAB or CIMA fully qualified accountant with significant experience of working at a senior level in a project accounting or business partnering environment within a complex organisation. You will be a strong team player and effective communicator, with experience of working across finance and non‑finance teams, and able to produce and analyse management information to support service delivery.

1. A CCAB or CIMA fully qualified accountant with significant experience of project accounting and/or delivering a professional, proactive finance business partnering service.
2. A proven track record of working with, influencing and challenging a range of stakeholders within multi‑disciplinary teams, including senior leaders.
3. Experience of supporting complex delivery activities from a finance perspective, understanding and effectively communicating all financial impacts, risks and opportunities.
