Senior Instrumentation & Automation Engineer Location: Hybrid (Basingstoke, UK) Contract: Inside IR35 Sector: Onshore Gas | Brownfield Projects | Energy Engineering About the Role We're seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team in Basingstoke, supporting a fast-paced debottlenecking project for an onshore brownfield gas facility. This is a high-impact role within a technically demanding environment, where precision and speed are key. You'll work closely with lead engineers to deliver critical instrumentation and control systems across all phases of the project. From developing philosophies and specifications to attending HAZOP and SIL reviews, your expertise will help shape the success of this complex energy initiative. Key Responsibilities * Provide technical support and contribute to instrumentation deliverables * Develop key documents: Instrumentation & Automation Philosophy, ICSS Specification, General Instrument Specs * Prepare technical datasheets for flow devices, valves, F&G systems, WHCPs, cables, and bulk materials * Design ICSS architecture, cable routing, instrument layouts, and control room layouts (with designer support) * Generate instrument lists, I/O lists, cable schedules, MTOs, and other project documentation * Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and other multidisciplinary reviews (Plot Plan, 3D Model, F&G Mapping) * Support P&ID mechanisation and input into Cause & Effect diagrams Experience required * Proven experience in FEED-stage instrumentation and automation engineering * Strong familiarity with ICSS systems and brownfield project challenges * Knowledge of Eni tools and standards (highly desirable) * Degree in Instrumentation, Electronic, or Control Engineering * Willingness to travel for site surveys or project meetings abroad Why Join? * Be part of a high-profile energy project with real-world impact * Work in a collaborative, technically driven environment * Hybrid working model for flexibility and balance * Competitive contract terms within IR35
