A specialist SEN school in South Shields is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September. The school supports pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH needs, ADHD and communication difficulties within a structured, nurturing and therapeutic environment. Staff work closely together to ensure every pupil receives consistent emotional and academic support tailored to their individual needs. The Role: Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups Assisting with classroom learning and differentiated activities Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies Building strong relationships with pupils to support engagement Working alongside teachers, therapists and support staff The Ideal Candidate: Experience in SEN, care, youth work or education desirable Calm, patient and resilient approach Strong communication and relationship-building skills Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners Team player with a proactive attitude This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
