Based at our hospital in Dewsbury, the successful candidate will be an experienced trainer who will be responsible for delivering accredited Violence and Aggression Reduction training programmes in personal safety in order for the organisation to meet its statutory obligations. Main duties The post holder will provide the workforce with specialist advice pertaining to personal safety and dealing with violence and aggression in the workplace. The post holder will undertake the role of delivering a comprehensive range of physical intervention and breakaway courses to clinical and non-clinical staff members. The post holder will have responsibility for planning classes and deliver engaging training sessions to a set of agreed criteria using a range of approaches to learning and carrying out maintenance of records for ESR. They will continuously develop the courses based upon the feedback they receive from their delegates and audits and in line with changing trends, legislation and guidance from experts both externally through the HSE/CQC and within our own organisation. Key requirements Be a role model and uphold professional standards for the management of violence and aggression reduction. Develop and maintain professional links during training with other departments, organisations and individuals who conduct work within the field of personal safety. Attend meetings as directed by line managers to provide advice on personal safety and management and reduction of violence and aggression in the workplace. Utilise verbal and communication skills as appropriate to meet the learning styles of the individual trainee. To be able to communicate and influence people at all levels within the organisation. Excellent presentation skills. Supports the Lead Trainer in engaging with managers, using tact, persuasion and negotiation skills to overcome barriers to enrolling staff in the training to ensure attendance. Under supervision, support the Lead Trainer in working with complex and sensitive information on patients and incidents to develop appropriate VART action plans for teams. Deputise for lead trainer as and when required to support the department. Supports management in the development of the VART project. Act as a first point of contact for queries for trainees.
