We have an exciting opportunity for an NMP or Pharmacist Prescriber to join our Wiltshire service for a 12-month maternity cover. At our integrated community drug and alcohol service, you’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to supporting individuals across Wiltshire. As a community-based Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber at our Connect Service, you’ll empower people to change their lives. You’ll receive the support you need to thrive in this role while working in a friendly, multidisciplinary environment. Your Role and Responsibilities
In this vital position, you will: Conduct opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions. Manage benzodiazepine reductions and alcohol/opiate detoxifications. Administer detoxification medications and pabrinex. Perform health care assessments and provide Blood Borne Virus (BBV) screenings and vaccinations. Collaborate closely with mental health, physical health, and social care services. Participate in local prescribers meetings and one-on-one clinical supervision. Contribute to shaping service delivery and ensuring clinically excellent services. You’ll have access to ongoing training and support from our Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead, ensuring you continue to grow in your professional journey. What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will: Be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or be a qualified Pharmacist with independent prescriber status. Have confidence in managing all aspects of prescribing for opiates and alcohol detoxifications. Be an excellent communicator and highly organized. Possess the ability to create flexible, tailored support packages for individuals. Have a genuine passion for helping people and a deep level of empathy and understanding.
