Job purpose
This role is a Procurement generalist position. The purpose of the role is to support the business in optimising the value that can be derived from the supplier base whilst adopting appropriate methods to manage and mitigate associated risks.
Main responsibilities
1. Lead or, occasionally, support full end to end supplier selection exercises for goods and services, working with key stakeholders, across a varied range of direct and indirect spend categories such as IT software licence and support, equipment maintenance and consumables.
2. Negotiate and place contracts with third party suppliers across a diverse range of spend categories.
3. Help ensure suppliers remain under contract and that where changes are required contract variations are drafted and negotiated in a timely manner.
4. Manage and administer Vaultex’s Supplier Relationship Management programme including performing due diligence exercises on Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
5. Provide procurement and supplier management guidance and training to the business particularly to those responsible for managing suppliers on a day-to-day basis.
6. Work with Accounts Payable in setting up new suppliers and managing supplier changes on Vaultex’s eProcurement platform.
7. Management of the Preferred Supplier List.
8. Manage the relationship with those suppliers directly used by Procurement.
9. Other procurement-related tasks as may be required from time to time.
Knowledge, skills, and experience required
10. Full MCIPS accreditation or working towards.
11. Experience of leading RFQs, RFPs across multiple and varied spend categories including working with business stakeholders in developing specifications / supplier evaluation / negotiation.
12. Experience of drafting/making amendments to and negotiating contracts including around pricing, pricing controls and service levels.
13. Motivated self-starter with a proven ability to autonomously manage own workload.
14. Demonstrable drive to identify and deliver cost saving initiatives within set time frames.
15. Competent in performing analysis on spend reports, third party supplier contracts and tender submissions, with a keen eye for detail.
16. Substantial experience of interacting with suppliers with a good appreciation of best practice methods and tools.
17. Practical experience of e-purchasing systems (although training on our systems will be provided).
18. Eager to learn new things and adept at picking up information at pace.
19. Intermediate-Advanced: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
