Specialist SEN School
Location: Torton, Kidderminster Contract: Permanent, Part-Time, Term Time Only Hours: 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-6:00pm) Salary: £11,810.75 - £12,284.25: FTE - £26,769.60 - £28,038.40)
We are working with a specialist SEN school to recruit a reliable and conscientious School Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.
This role plays an important part in supporting children and young people with additional needs by ensuring the school environment is hygienic, well-maintained and fit for learning.
About the Setting
The school supports children and young people with special educational needs, including SEMH and Autism. Set within spacious grounds, the environment is designed to promote wellbeing, safety and positive development for pupils who may have experienced challenges in previous educational settings.
The Role
As a School Cleaner, you will be responsible for cleaning a wide range of areas across the school, ensuring consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
You will work independently and as part of a wider site team, playing a key role in maintaining a safe, organised and pleasant learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Vacuuming and mopping floors
* Spot cleaning spillages
* Wiping furniture, ledges, doors, paintwork and glass
* Emptying and cleaning bins daily
* Cleaning toilets, including sanitary fittings and surrounds
* Cleaning kitchens, showers, halls, corridors and offices
* Dusting, cobweb removal and polishing handrails and woodwork
* Replenishing janitorial and toilet supplies
* Ensuring windows are closed, lights are switched off and buildings are secure after cleaning
* Storing cleaning equipment safely and correctly
* Undertaking additional cleaning duties as required
About You
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a clean and respectful environment within a school setting.
Skills & Experience
* Cleaning experience in a school or SEN environment (desirable but not essential)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail
* Understanding of confidentiality in a school setting
* Awareness of health & safety procedures
* COSHH knowledge (training provided)
* First Aid certification (desirable but not essential)
