Overview
A permanent full-time Independent Reviewing Officer post in Derbyshire. The role is to quality assure the care plans and interventions for children looked after. It primarily covers the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales area, with potential allocations from other areas. Derbyshire established its IRO service in 1999, and the team has continued to expand and develop. The current team works flexibly, with a team base at County Hall Matlock, and much work undertaken from home or where the children live. The IRO service benefits from involvement with a well-resourced Virtual School, specialist health support, locality children in care teams and a recently inspected Leaving Care service. The area offers living and working near the Peak District, within reach of Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby.

Responsibilities
* Quality assure the care plans and interventions for children looked after.
* Provide Independent Reviewing Officer oversight primarily for the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales area, with potential allocations from other areas.
* Collaborate with partner agencies and participate in supervision, training and regional development opportunities.
* Engage with the Virtual School, health supports, locality teams and Leaving Care services as part of a multi-agency approach.
Qualifications and requirements
* Registered with Social Work England as a Social Worker.
* Management experience.
* Driver with access to a car; a DBS check is required.
