We’re looking for a savvy, creative and fast Producer / Video Editor to help shape a new YouTube news channel producing explainer‑led, news‑adjacent content focused on UK politics.
You’ll be responsible for cutting compelling, visually engaging videos that break down complex current affairs into clear, narrative‑driven stories for digital audiences. This role requires strong editorial judgement, excellent pacing, and an instinct for what keeps viewers watching.
Working closely with the Executive Producer and Head of Digital Content, you’ll help develop ideas, contribute to scripting, refine edits, and ensure a consistent and distinctive editorial voice. There will also be opportunities to go on shoots and capture original footage.
Key Responsibilities
* Edit engaging, explainer‑led video content for a YouTube news audience
* Shape raw footage, archive, news clips and original material into clear, impactful stories
* Translate complex political and current affairs topics into accessible, narrative‑led videos
* Collaborate with senior editorial leads to develop ideas, scripts and story structures
* Maintain strong pacing, visual storytelling and audience retention throughout edits
* Work to fast turnaround deadlines while maintaining editorial and technical standards
* Contribute creative ideas to the channel’s format, tone and visual style
* Occasionally shoot original footage where required

* Strong news sense, with a passion for UK politics and current affairs
* Excellent attention to detail and editorial judgement
* Experience editing news or current affairs content
* Familiarity with explainer or journalism‑led video formats
* Basic scripting or story development experience
* Photoshop or graphic design experience
