About the Role
We’re looking for a Receptionist (Patient Navigator) to join our welcoming administrative team at Whitehouse Surgery. The successful candidate will ideally have prior experience within a GP practice, and will be a confident communicator with a friendly and welcoming nature.
This is a permanent contract. Full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time can be considered. Availability to cover shifts will be discussed with the line managers during the interview.
What We’re Looking For
1. A confident communicator with a friendly, patient, and professional attitude.
2. Someone who can handle a fast-paced, demanding environment with ease.
3. Prior experience in healthcare or administrative roles is desirable, but not essential. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
4. Welcoming patients and visitors, managing check-ins, and providing appointment information.
5. Answering phone calls and handling patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
6. Scheduling and managing appointments using our system.
7. Processing prescription requests from patients and pharmacies.
8. Handling patient queries in person, over the phone, and via email.
9. Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and letters, with accuracy.
10. Keeping the reception area tidy and ensuring smooth handovers for colleagues.
11. Completing administrative tasks such as patient registrations and updates.
What You’ll Bring
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
14. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in handling patient information.
15. Confidence in using IT systems and basic office software.
16. Prior experience in a healthcare or administrative role is desirable but not essential.
