Minute Taker / Administrator Job Type: Temporary Contract Location: Wakefield, WF10 Salary: £12.85 PAYE / £13.61 Umbrella per hour Core hours 8.30-5pm Mon - Friday We are seeking a skilled Minute Taker / Administrator to provide high-quality business and administration support services within the Safeguarding & Review Directorate. This role is crucial for ensuring effective operational support through proficient minute-taking during live meetings and comprehensive administrative tasks. Day-to-day of the role: Provide a range of administrative support tasks including bulk data input, typing, diary management, photocopying, and producing correspondence. Serve as the first point of contact for the team, handling routine enquiries and requests for information from colleagues, partners, and the public, adhering to the Council's Customer Care policy. Maintain effective communication systems, ensuring accurate message/information exchange with all levels of colleagues, partners, and the public. Organise meetings and conferences, including room bookings, agenda preparation, and document distribution. Attend meetings to produce and circulate minutes in a timely manner. Ensure timely and accurate data recording and storage within both electronic and manual systems. Collaborate with internal and external colleagues and partners to achieve common goals and objectives, displaying a positive and proactive attitude. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in minute-taking and meeting note-taking. Previous experience within a similar administrative function. Proficient in data entry and document typing with high accuracy and speed. Ability to present information clearly and professionally adhering to the Council’s plain English standards. Excellent organisational skills with the capability to manage own workload and meet tight deadlines. Experienced in coordinating diaries, booking meetings, and meeting preparations. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, effective with a wide range of internal and external customers. Benefits: Access to a dedicated consultant for ongoing support.
