Robert Half is hiring for a Technical Author to join a leading global consulting firm as an interim Associate, supporting a critical engagement with a financial services start-up preparing for a banking licence application. This role focuses on producing clear, compliant technical documentation across a Kafka-based, cloud-native architecture to meet regulatory expectations.
Assignment Overview
* Location : London (onsite/hybrid with developers)
* Duration : 3-6 months (extension likely)
* Day Rate : £600-£700/day via FCSA Umbrella Company (depending on experience)
* Start : ASAP onboarding takes c.2-3 weeks
What You'll Be Doing
* Creating audit-ready documentation to support Day 1 readiness for US banking licence examination
* Collaborating closely with engineers and technical stakeholders to document:
* API governance
* Enterprise resilience
* Testing and security strategy
* Transaction monitoring processes
* Writing documentation from scratch where policies or controls are not formally documented
* Operating within a fully cloud-native, Kafka-based integration architecture
* Supporting the broader compliance and risk readiness agenda for a regulatory exam
What We're Looking For
* Experienced Technical Author / Technical Writer with proven delivery in banking or fintech
* Strong grasp of cloud-native architecture, API ecosystems, and ideally Kafka-based platforms
* Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, start-up style environment
* Confident communicator, capable of engaging directly with developers and architects
* Previous exposure to regulatory or audit-focused documentation is highly desirable
