Bunnahabhain Distillery, home to one of Islay's most distinctive single malts, is looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Team Leader to join their Visitor Experience team. Based in the picturesque island of Islay, Bunnahabhain is a working site, where you will experience firsthand the Distillers at work ensuring the magic comes alive. Bunnahabhain is situated on the Northeastern shores of Islay with magnificent views of the Paps of Jura Bunnahabhain Distillery is known for producing distinctive single malts that reflect the character and craft of Islay. They are proud of their heritage, people, and the warm, authentic experiences they offer to visitors from around the world. They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Permanent Team Leader to join their team during their busy season. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, leading by example, and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a premium visitor environment. You will support the day-to-day running of their visitor-facing operations, ensuring standards are consistently high and the team feels supported, engaged, and confident in their roles. As a Permanent Team Leader, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, informative, and memorable distillery tours and tastings. You will be an ambassador for the Bunnahabhain brand, ensuring every visitor leaves with an exceptional experience. - Previous experience in a team leader or supervisory role (hospitality, tourism, retail, or similar highly desirable) - Strong communication and people management skills - Confident, approachable, and customer-focused - Able to lead by example in a fast-paced, visitor-focused environment. - Organised, reliable, and adaptable to changing needs. - Passion for whisky, tourism, or Scottish heritage is an advantage (but not essential) Key responsibilities include: - Lead, motivate, and support seasonal team members on shift. - Deliver engaging, informative, and passionate distillery tours, tastings and experiences that embody the Bunnahabhain spirit. - Ensure an exceptional visitor experience across tours, retail, and hospitality areas. - Act as a key point of contact for visitors and staff during operational hours. - Support rota management, daily briefings, and task allocation. - Maintain high standards of customer service, presentation, and compliance. - Manage visitor queries, feedback, and any issues professionally and calmly. - Work collaboratively with management to support smooth daily operations.
