Job Details
Our Residential Service supports some of the most vulnerable young people in Fife who have experienced significant childhood adversity and who may, at times, experience distress and distress-related behaviours. Candidates must:
* Provide high-quality care and support to children in a residential setting
* Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans
* Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for all children
* Support children in their daily routines, including education, activities, and personal development
* Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to meet children's needs
* Uphold safeguarding procedures and ensure the well-being of all children
* Uphold the principles of the Promise Scotland
* Undertake physical tasks (for example cleaning and cooking) that promote a homely environment
* Participate in various activities with children in the house and community
The successful applicant will be expected to uphold professional standards as detailed by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate.
The Person
* Experience of working with young people who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences
* An understanding of the concepts and principles of attachment & trauma responsive care
* Must be able to see beyond presenting behaviours whilst being able to display empathy, compassion and hope for young people
* Understand that this is a demanding and, at times, very tough job. A high level of composure and resilience is required
* Must have an HNC in Social Care and SVQ 3, or be willing to work toward these qualifications and register with SSSC within 3 months of start date
* Ability to organise and participate in leisure and recreational activities
